I have decided that I no longer want to do monthly TBRs because I feel that 1. I never really follow them and 2. it can be quite repetitive (because look at the first reason). I needed something to replace that so I decided to do a weekly reading update sort of thing where I basically talk about books I have read in that week, books I am currently reading, and my reading goals for the following week. So yes, this is the very first one.
Completed BooksThe Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis
This book has been on my TBR for many months now (See what I mean by repetitive TBRs?) but I finally read it! I think I started 2018 well because this book was fantastic! This book focuses on rape culture and the impact it can have on people. I think this book did an amazing job at conveying its message and this is a book I would recommend to everyone because it’s important. It definitely opened my eyes to things I don’t usually give much thought to. I am more than glad I decided to pick this book up and I think more people should read it.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5)
Currently ReadingLady Midnight by Cassandra Clare I am more than 200 pages into this book and I am enjoying it so far, no surprise. I am very nearly caught up with The Shadowhunter Chronicles which seemed almost impossible to me six months ago. I am enjoying Emma’s story so far I cannot wait to see where the plot is going. The Shadowhunter Chronicles just keeps getting better with each book so I there is no doubt I will love this book.
GoalsBy next week I plan to finish Lady Midnight, which I most likely will. I don’t plan on reading anything else while reading Lady Midnight because I don’t think I would be able to focus on the other book at the same time. Within the week, if I am done with Lady Midnight, I want to try to get to You’re Welcome, Universe by Whitney Gardner. And if I manage to complete that, I will either pick up When We Collied by Emery Lord or Cinder by Marissa Meyer. Three books is quite an ambitious goal for a week but I think I can do it, considering I am really in the mood for reading. But with the school year starting and all, it could go the other way round.
Thanks for reading!
Until next time,
Happy reading!
