Just Do it and Stop Pursuing Perfection
Perfectionism is such a good thing. It is the engine that has fueled technological innovation and advancement in science. It has helped birth the finest of art and even defined much of our evolution. But it has also created a crippling fear in many people such that they don’t want to fail along the journey to success.
It doesn’t work that way.
Inasmuch as there is the need to aim for perfection, we lose time and make no valuable effort towards the realisation of our goals when we remain at the same spot planning for the best there can be.
Basically, perfectionism kills productivity.
In product management, there is a concept referred to as Minimum Viable Product (MVP), which according to Michael Cho, Founder of Crew and Unsplash, is a product that has the minimum set of features to prove the most essential hypothesis in your business.
Chill. I’ll explain. It means that the MVP is the simplest and smallest version of an idea, to see if people actually need it. It contains the basic and most essential features of a product.
So why don’t you start with an MVP? You have got nothing much to lose starting small and scaling from there. Don’t get consumed by the crippling fear of failure. Like Media entrepreneur and YouTuber, Gary Vaynerchuk would fondly say, ‘Fuck your what if’s, just fucking do!’
The world can’t wait for your unveiling.
Big ups to Gary Vee for this post’s images.
