An interesting caribbean story: THE WHITE WITCH OF ROSE HALL

Now as some of you might know that the Caribbean is vibrant with many places of interest and interesting stories. One such place of interest is the Rose Hall House in Jamaica. It was home to the legendary Annie Palmer, nicknamed “The White Witch of Rose Hall.

According to the legendary story Annie Palmer’s Ghost haunts the grounds of Rose Hall. Annie Palmer was born in Haiti to a English mother and an Irish father and spent most of her life in Haiti. After the death of her parents, due to yellow fever she was adopted by a Nanny who taught her witchcraft and voodoo.

Annie moved to Jamaica and married John Palmer the owner of Rose Hall Plantation. She murdered him, two other husbands that followed him and a number of male plantation slaves. Every man that fell under her charm ended up dead earning her the name ‘The White Witch’ She was reportedly murdered by a slave name Takoo.

The story is said to be fictious.  Although the story might be true the Legend lives on.
