Let’s Get Away From The Hustle And Bustle Of Saigon For A Day!!!

Have you ever felt like you got stuck in this city?

Have you ever felt like you need some fresh air while you are “fighting” with your scooter among the chaos of the street?

And have you thought about somewhere you could get away from the hustle and bustle of Saigon just for a day (in weekends maybe)?

OK. Let’s spare some time to read this post. I will share the day that I have got away from traffic jam in Saigon and have had a breath of fresh air in somewhere on earth!

Waken up at 7am (seems late), then I drove to the meeting point to see my friends. At 8am, we started to head to the Southeast of Saigon on Highway No.50. After one and a half hours in the car, we stoped at Can Duoc Market. We came in the local market like celebrities because there were some foreigners in our group and many local people were excited to look at them, ask us about them and give compliments for my friends’s beauty.

Two children in our group loved to see baby ducks and baby chickens so much. At first, they seemed to be scared of touching those babies but still stared at the babies. A baby duck was picked into their hands and yeah finally they got some unforgetable photographs in their life :)) I knew it for sure that there was rare to see and touch ducks and chickens in their coutry, especially in city. And I thought children in Saigon were the same like them.

Baby ducks

We were “stuck” at ducks and chickens stall for a while. Then we moved to Fruit stall to buy some. There were many tropical fruits here. We were all love it for sure! When I was a child, I wished my family had sold fruits then I could eat it everyday :)).  Yup and until now I still have a big love for fruits. It was difficult to choose, but then after a few minutes (yup not a few hours :))), we had bought some pomegranates, watermelons and custard apples for our dessert after lunch.

This time is pineapple season so it’s easy to see it in Mekong Delta

After that, we traveled in another 30 minutes. We arrived at a legumes nursery to stretch our legs and to see how local people plant chilli in 10 minutes. I absolutely fell in love with the green colour of those baby chilli leaves.

The next stop was supposed to be the bike station where we would start our ride. Cycling was the activity that I guessed almost students used to do in school time. Because it was illegal to drive motorbikes when we were under 18 :)). Ride a bike on a road in a village, we felt like we lived again in those days when we were a student, definitely!

We stoped at the house that was a goat shelter behinds. We fed them with a tree (Vietnamese name is “Suông đũa” – not sure :))) and played with them for a while.

A baby goat is so so cute

The bicycle path wandered along rice paddy fields that made us feel like a breath of fresh air.

Well, the next stop was a water buffalo house. I hoped they felt happy when we came!

Hi. How are you?

Having lunch at a muddy beach with some interested guys and some interested small talks was good, I thought :)). We were ready to take a nap in our car after a big meals.

After one hour driving to My Tho pier, we took a leasure private boat in Mekong River. Did we enjoy here? Yup for sure, it enables us to feel fresh air, smell of water’s river and think about someone else…

What’s next? Sampan in a creek….Yup I was there and viewed countless water coconut palm trees. I really liked water coconut drink but could not pick its bunch.

After that, our car took us back to Saigon on Highway No.1. You can hear the song “Highway don’t care” as the link below
