Absorbing and affirming, George Bishop’s magnificent debut brilliantly captures a sense of time and place with a distinct and inviting voice. Letter to My Daughter is a heartwrenching novel of mothers, daughters, and the lessons we all learn when we come of age.
I really enjoyed this short book. It is a mother’s letter to her daughter after she discovers she has run away. She spends the time hoping for her daughter to return writing this long letter. In it, she explains her life story, that of her daughters and some other bits. I won’t spoil it!
This is truly heart wrenching and kept me pulled in the entire time. You really feel the mum’s pain and fear at not knowing where her daughter is.
Definitely worth a read!
