MARIAH WOODS CASE BOMBSHELL: Slain toddlers Mom plans to claim tot’s young brother responsible for child’s death

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — The mother of slain 3-year-old murder victim Mariah Woods is prepared to claim that one of the tragic toddler’s young brothers killed the girl, according to the child’s biological father, Alex Woods.

Woods, who appeared with his fiancee Heather on Nancy Grace’s radio show, Crime Online (http://www.crimeonline.com/2017/12/04/monday-crime-stories-moms-boyfriend-charged-with-dumping-mariah-woods-in-creek-toddlers-dad-talks-again-to-nancy-grace/), made the startling claim on Monday, just days after the body of his young daughter was found in a North Carolina creek.

The child’s mother, Kristy Woods, has been under an umbrella of suspicion since reporting the child missing from the Jacksonville trailer home she shared with live-in boyfriend, Earl Kimrey, on November 27.

The girl’s disappearance sparked a statewide search as FBI investigators joined forces with local police to help find her. Woods, who doubted his ex-wife’s story since the beginning, told Grace he’d been battling for custody of his children for over a year and only learned of his little girl’s disappearance while listening to the radio.

“I didn’t think it was real,” Woods told Grace. “I heard her name over the radio and I was like, ‘Do what? No way.’ It took a minute to hit.”

Despite massive search efforts to bring the child home alive, the close-knit North Carolina community learned that the girl’s remains had been found about 25 miles from the home she shared with her mother, Kimrey, and two older brothers, aged 10 and 5.

On December 1, prior to the recovery of the child’s body, Kimrey was taken into custody and charged with concealing the girl’s death, hiding her body, obstruction of justice, second-degree burglary, larceny and possession of stolen property. He was arraigned on the charges Monday at the Onslow County Courthouse (http://www.wral.com/boyfriend-charged-in-mariah-woods-death-appears-in-court/17158178/).

During Monday’s radio interview with Grace, Alex Woods claimed that an investigator close to the case told him that Kimrey and the child’s mother, who has not yet been charged in her daughter’s death, plan to claim that one of her young sons killed the girl and that Kimrey disposed of the girl’s body in an attempt to help cover it up.

Woods says he does not believe that version of events and claims to have overheard a telephone conversation between a friend of the family and Kristy Woods’ father, who claimed that the child was struck by either Kristy Woods or Earl Kimrey,  leading to her death, and that Woods instructed Kimrey to dispose of the child’s body in an effort to conceal the crime.

Kimrey is currently being held at the Onslow County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.

Calls to the Onslow County Sherrif’s Department for statement on the allegations were met with “no comment”.
