Never Been Kissed (1999)
Yesterday night I was in the mood of a good old classic and I decided to watch this movie again for the millionth time. Probably most of you know this movie but I feel like it needs a special mention on my blog. For those of you who don’t know the story, it’s about a Chicago Sun Times’ copy editor named Josie Geller.
Josie is a 25 yeard old who, for the first time, gets assigned an undercover reportage at a high school to help parents become more aware of their children’s lives. Her first day at South Glen South High School is miserable. Josie reverts to the old geek persona that ruined her first high school career.
I’m not gonna go on full details of the story because there’s Wikipedia for this things and if you wanna check the plot you can find it here. What I wanna talk about is what this movie gives me everytime I watch it so let’s start with the main reason why I love it:
Mr Sam Coulson
If I had a teacher like that in high school, I would’ve been completely in love with him and I also gotta say that Michael Vartan has always been my dream guy when I was younger.
Everytime I watch this movie, I fall in love with him a bit more and I’ll never stop wishing to meet my Mr Coulson one day.
This movie gives me hope. Hope that one day I’ll get out of my ‘eternally single’ tunnel and find the love I want and deserve. It makes you reflect how high school has an impact on our lives and that sometimes we never really grow out of it until we’re face to face with the past.
If you’ve never watched this movie or if haven’t watched it in a while then go and do it because whether is the first or the 500th time, it’s so worth it..plus you get to see a very young Jessica Alba and James Franco.
After expressing my love for this movie, I leave you with my favourite quote:
See you soon
