I told you I would bring a fashion focus to this blog.
I have to say these days I’m coveting everything and anything from the house of Dior.
I am lucky enough to own two Dior bags, a large Lady Dior in patent black and a gorgeous Diorever in cracked lambskin. These are the two bags that I adore with all my heart. If I had to pick two pieces to keep forever these would be it and they both are Dior. Yes, I admit I think the direction it is going is far more impressive than that of Chanel or Hermes both heavyweights in their own right. I just think there is something new and fresh for the brand over the last 10 years with Raf Simons and now Maria Grazia Chiuri. All this being said if you were to give me a classic Chanel jacket or a Kelly bag I would not say no to these pieces, in fact anything from Chanel or Hermes I would be pretty happy with.
Dior to me is at the top of their game and they have done what I didn’t think could be done; reinvention of the Lady Dior in a way that hasn’t taken away from its original but made it more practical and user friendly. Take the original zip opening of the bag which is a pain. I can attest to this as mine even though large is hard to get items out of as its narrow and feels like a bottomless pit when trying to reach in. The new soft Lady Dior has taken this into consideration and instead of a zip has a solid flap that allows you to make wider when searching around for your phone etc…
The below studded one is beautiful in real life and comes with the new DIOR hardware. It comes in both calfskin and lambskin leather.
Of course it wouldn’t be a chat about Dior without mentioning their famous tribal earrings. I’m not much of a designer jewellery person but these are stunning in person. I have yet to bite the bullet on these but who knows maybe I will. The only other jewellery piece I want to mention is the Dior and J’Adior chokers. I am fully on the bandwagon of these. I love 90s fashion and this just makes it especially bad ass considering its Dior. More so than the tribal earrings one of these chokers will hopefully be in my collection soon as I’m going to explore the second hand market for these.
Aside from these my new love is the My Lady Dior bag in a size between the original small and medium lady Dior. It is the perfect in between size and I think can be more casually worn because of the size. The other great thing is the thicker shoulder strap and the customisable badges that you get with the bag. My understanding is that you get three badges with the bag and you can pay for extra. Personally I think three is enough but I guess the option is there for more. I am eyeing off the light blue version which for the life of me I can’t find a picture of but I did see it on someone’s instagram. It is the most stunning blue and in some light it can even look grey without being grey like below. In the Brisbane store I tried on the silver and it was just the right size and felt good crossbody as I think the medium looks a little strange when worn that way.
Anyways I have rambled on enough about my ❤️ of all things Dior.
I am off to Jakarta tomorrow for the weekend so I might not be as regular with posts but I am doing some filming there so hopefully you will see some cool footage from that.
