My belated Christmas present to myself

I rarely make online purchase apart from the air ticket and hotel booking. But I do enjoy the kind of “shopping” experience. You made the purchase, you patiently waiting for the delivery date, it could be few hours, one day, 3 days or a week. Finally,  when you receive the delivery package from the courier service,  it comes the excitement of opening the parcel even though you knew exactly what is inside the box. The moment of uncertainty when you unwrap the parcel and the item is yet to be seen (There could still be a chance of wrong delivery or item mismatch). The moment of relief when you see and you hold the items you have purchased. We finally met.

Of course i’m exaggerated the above. But it’s somehow true for me since as I said, I rarely make online purchase. Lately, I just made a small online purchase before the new year holiday.

The final month of the year usually is not a productive one. With everyone busy to clear their leaves, go for holidays and the festive mood (Christmas and new year are around the corner). I’m no exception.

After the Christmas weekend, I was physically sitting in the office with my mind be excused.  I browsed through the music in iTunes, searching for the music that allow me to concentrate on my work. I browsed the internet from one website to the other; from news websites to Wikipedia to YouTube and I stopped by the Bookxcess website, the online site of the discount book store to browse through some bargain books. I can’t remember how long I’ve been searching through the book list. could be one or two hours. I ended up check out 4 books and made the purchase.

So, the post purchase cycle mentioned above started. I started login to my account daily to check the delivery status. the status appear as “Processing” for first day, second day and remain the same until the last working day of the year (29-Dec, Friday). Then it was the long new year weekend.

My parcel finally arrived on the 2nd day of the new year. I was on leave at home and without any expectation on the day, the delivery guy from the courier company appeared in front of my doorstep and handed me with the parcel I’ve been waiting for almost a week. My daughter is as excited as me when she saw the parcel and she offered to unwrap the parcel together. We unwrap it together. This is a little Christmas present I send to myself.
