My first Celebrate Books Box!

So, when you are a booklover, you’ve definitely heard once about the Owlcrate or Illumicrate boxes. In my country, the Netherlands, we have Celebrate Books, which is about the same. It’s just that I’ve never really been brave enough to actually buy such a box. I’ve always been scared that I wouldn’t like the book or that the goodies wouldn’t be fun. So when I saw that Celebrate Books had a Surprise Box for fifteen euros instead of the usually thirty I decided to give myself a christmas present.

Thing was, I didn’t really know if this box contained a book, but for me that didn’t really matter. If this box indeed did have a book, it would probably be Dutch and nowadays I barely read Dutch as I’m studying English (just for your information, there was no book in this box). Anyway, since a few months I’ve been having my own room in this big city far away from home and I was searching for some bookish things to decorate my big, white walls with.

So this morning I got this message that the box was on its way and as you can expect, I was absolutely excited. All day I was sitting near the window, hoping to see the mailman. You see, our doorbell didn’t work and they can walk to our backyard (we even have a sign saying so), but they don’t want to do that. And there was no way that man was going to walk away with my box again. But it did let me think: what if this box was a waste of my money? What if I didn’t like it at all? Or would I, as I hoped, absolutely love this book.

So near four o’clock the mailman was finally there, with my box in his hands, handing it over to me. I grabbed some scissors and I opened my very first Celebrate Books Box.

The first thing I saw in my box was a tote bag. Through the years I’ve had a few tote bags and I have to admit, I absolutely love this one.

Just one more chapter, said no one ever

The quote is amazing. Besides, I’m sure it will come in handy so now and then. It’s not to big and not too small. Oh and it’s sure a great book to spread the book love!

Some bookmarks

The next thing in the box were some amazing bookmarks. I totally love the Harry Potter bookmark. And yes, I’m also one of those you’re still waiting for their letters. Then there’s the other bookmark. Who the lady in the middle is, I’m not totally sure, so I kinda hoped you could help me out here. Anyway, she looks pretty great, right? The third bookmark is Jasmine. I’m a huge Disney fan and she is so pretty! The last one it not really a bookmark, but it’s a note from probably the one who put the boxes together and I don’t know, it makes it a bit more personal and it just put a smile on my face.

A quote by V.E. Schwab and bookmarks of Augustus and Hazel!

Augustus and Hazel! I’m totally in love with these bookmarks. They are so cute! I can’t wait to use them! The book of V.E. Schwab I haven’t read yet, but it’s a very beautiful quote, so maybe I’ll read it one day.  I only think it’s kind of a shame that the paper with the quote on it is so tiny. When I put it on my wall, I’m not sure if I can actually read it.

Two coasters (I think)

Next up are two coasters. At least, I think it are two coasters (sorry, I’ve never heard of that English word before. I looked it up, but I’m still not sure). Nevertheless, they’re very thin so I can put them on my wall anyway. I totally love the quotes on these coasters. Every time I read them a smile appears on my face and it spreads a warm feeling through my body.

Two quotes: one by John Green and one by Alice Broadway (and her signature!)

I want to be excited about her signature, but I haven’t read her book yet, so I’m not sure if she’s actually a good writer. I know, there are a lot of books left to read for me. But I do know the quote of John Green. I totally love those two and they’re definitely going to be up at my wall.

Some notebooks

I’m one of these persons who can never have enough notebooks, so I’m really happy with those. But I have to say, I’m not sure if I can write a lot on the notebook of The Fault in our Stars. As you can see the printing is too dominating. But that doesn’t matter. It looks great. And again, I hope you can help me. Do you have any idea who the girl and the boy in the middle are? Cause, I have absolutely no idea. She looks like a princess and he surely is a prince, but are they supposed to be someone in particular? Or are they just some people?

Clipboard, a notebook and some tea!

I absolutely love the clipboard, even though I’m not sure for what I could use it. While I’m writing this, I realize that I should’ve made a picture of the back, because you can see Belle reading and it is so beautiful and magical. Then there’s a notebook of Levana. I love the Lunar Chronicles and for a while I’ve been thinking to buy this notebook from someone else. Right now I’m kind of happy that I didn’t do that. And then there’s the tea! I love tea, but I’ve never had this kind of tea. So before I can try it, I first have to buy some extra things… Haha.

Last but not least: another tote bag!

Absolutely love this tote bag with the quote of John Green. I’m absolutely sure these things will come in handy so now and then.

I must say that I’m really happy with the box I’ve bought and maybe I’ll buy a real box in the upcoming next month. It’s just that it’s so much money and you’ll never really know what you’ll get back for it. Or maybe, when there’s another Surprise Box, I can buy that one again, but I must say, I really want a book next time.
