review 1: This is a two and a half star book. I wanted to read it and was looking forward to a different book than the one written. This was a history mostly of Mrs. Lincoln. I wanted to know about the dressmaker. It was a historical fiction book and focused almost entirely on the history. I think that's a little unusual for this genre. It was kind of a slow read for me but informative and well written.
review 2: Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker was a very good book. Through the eyes of this author, you were able to see the other side of the story of Mrs. Lincoln and President Lincoln through their White House days. I am a fan of Civil War fiction, but this book really made the time period come alive. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves reading his... moretorical fiction.
