Do you want to see your kids excel at reading from a young age?
Do you want your kids to be familiar with the characters of the Bible?
Noah, Noah, What Do You See? is the book you are looking for. Writing by Bill Martin Jr, author of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, and Michael Sampson, author of Listen To Our World, this children’s book is exactly what you are looking for.
Touching on all the memorable stories from the Old and New Testament, your child will be reading along and smiling big at all the wonderful illustrations. Excellent drawn by Melissa Iwai, kids will learn to recognize who is in the Bible stories, like Adam and Eve in the garden, Joseph and his colourful coat, and Jesus with the little children.
If your child loves books, or you want to help them cultivate a strong reading habit, Noah, Noah, What Do You See? is just what you have been looking for.
Something I really like about this book, besides being filled with great illustrations and simple phrases, is the inclusion of Scripture. On the bottom of every page, the authors, Martin Jr and Sampson have included the references from which they are pulling these stories out. It’s nice as a parent to see where these stories are easily, especially if your child wants more of Joseph and his coat, or Jesus with the children.
I can see some readers being upset that there is no mention of Jesus’ death and resurrection in this book. While it is a vital piece of Christian faith, this is still a children’s book. The grotesque nature of Jesus’ crucifixion doesn’t need to be depicted to display the great love that He has for us.
Martin Jr and Sampson tackle this issue in a fantastic way. Rather than ending the book with Jesus’ death or resurrection, they show Jesus seeing all the characters of the book. Not only that, but they include a piece of Scripture that helps illustrate and drive the whole point of the book home.
“I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.” – Proverbs 8:17
Noah, Noah, What Do You See? is a cute children’s’ book, designed to help your child become familiar with the characters of the Bible while teaching them the basics of reading. This book is perfect for those children going to school or kids excited to see animals and smiling faces. I give this children’s book 5 out of 5 stars.
