New Year, New Beginning

For Christmas, my daughter gave me a journal. She knew I was giving this whole blogging thing a whirl and, although I’m more of a “type it, don’t write it” person, she said that I could use it to jot down ideas for future posts.

She also knows that in the midst of finals, graduation and preparing for Christmas, I ended a five year relationship. It was a difficult decision but one that needed to be made.

Anyway, now here I am! Almost 50 (ok, 46 and a half) and single. Plus, with my oldest daughter married, living in Texas and my youngest working out of town during the week, a little bit of empty nest syndrome has been thrown into the mix. What ever is a girl to do???

The Answer comes in the form of Cathy Anne’s New Year’s Resolutions …

  • Get fit!!! Yes, it’s cliché but oh well! I have always wanted to take a Zumba class. I’ve found a gym not far from me that offers Zumba classes so I’m giving it a try!
  • Read at least one book a month. In January, I’ll be reading The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult (another Christmas gift). I have a couple of ideas for February but I’ll also take suggestions. FYI … I’m not really into romance novels.
  • Do my best to read my Bible and get some prayer time in as often as possible. I bought a neat prayer planner (pictured below) from my friend at The Classy Bee Studio (check them out on Facebook). I can’t wait to get started!
  • Travel!!!  By travel, I mean get out and explore Louisiana … this awesome state that I live in! Whether it’s a plantation tour during a weekend getaway or a day trip spent shopping and experiencing local eateries … I’m all in!
  • And my final resolution is to maintain this blog. There are still so many things I have to learn about blogging but as the saying goes … Practice makes perfect!
  • There you have it! My 2018 Resolutions! I promise to post updates and pictures!

And, if you don’t mind, spread the word about Cathy Anne’s World! Thanks in advance!

Lastly, sending my very best wishes to you and yours for a Happy New Year! Take care!
