So I picked up this new release purely because of the blurb because the premise reminded me of Poison Ivy from the DC comic universe.
I can honestly say I wasn’t expecting alot especially because it’s a short read 288 pages. It blew me away it was a definite page turner. So Poison’s Kiss is Breeana Shield’s debut novel and I believe book one in a series, which I cannot wait for more, there is so much more to explore. It surrounds the main character Marinda who is an assassin for the Raja and can kill people by a simple kiss, her lips are filled with venom. Yet one day she is ordered to kiss the boy she loves, and it’s her journey discovering herself and the true power she possesses. This story is based on Indian folklore and the author does an amazing job immersing you into the world, making you fall head over heels with the characters and the plot twists. I was left screaming WHAT!!! Every few chapters.
Also the main male lead’s name is my name lol Yet spelled differently which helped. If your looking for a great read that’s fast and not incredibly long, that will make you thirst for more check out Poison’s Kiss. Also if you love The Wrath and The Dawn duology, you will love this book. Im looking forward to much more of Marinda and Deven in the future.
