“You were going to win my daughter’s affections with your reindeer dog, and I, being the loving father, would have no choice but to take you as my partner in order to ensure her happiness.”

In a word: Read the thing.

The Summary: (from Goodreads) Scott Burke has always desired a big family, but as a divorced single dad, all he has is his young daughter, Lexi. He pours himself into raising her, half-convinced he’ll never find what he’s looking for. When Brennan Price strolls into Scott’s life, he’d better have enough patience for both Lexi and Scott if he intends to stick around.

Brennan has a huge family and a successful career, but no one to call his own. Wooing Scott and his daughter is right up his alley, though, and he steps up to the challenge to prove he’s enough for both of them. His attraction to Scott is immediate, but he recognizes a family man when he sees one and hatches a plan to win Lexi over. Her handsome father is sure to follow….

  • So cute!

  • For some reason I thought this story took place in Australia, but it might be that it’s just set somewhere warm, country unspecified.

  • Baby Lexi is adorable, though I thought she’d be older given the summary. I think she’s just under a year old or something.

  • Scott and Brennan are sweethearts. They both seem well suited for each other. Which is great since they seem to like each other a lot.

  • Also they’re both pretty funny. A lot of their flirting was also jokey. I was happy to read a story where the romantic leads could laugh and have fun together.

  • The ‘Our Father’ prayer during sex was hilarious. A+ usage.

  • Also Scott and Brennan falling during their skating date and then having Lexi scoot past them – while laughing – with her bucket sounded like a funny image and I had to laugh at that.

  • This was a very cute ‘getting together’ story and I would definitely recommend it for a fluffy read.

  • The whole story is pretty much feel-good fluff except for the part in the beginning where Scott explains what had happened between him and Lexi’s mother.
