Hey there! I recently posted my Unboxing of the PRH book mail which mainly contained JG books for the preparation of his latest upcoming Turtles All the Way Down book. A reread readalong was organized by Penguin Random House which is open for everyone, so here is the schedule if you guys wanna join (I apologize for posting late but for you guys who don’t know about it yet check this out), also Penguin Teen have their own version of #TURTLESALLTHEWAYCOUNTDOWN
READALONG TIMELINE Week 1 (Aug 28- Sept 3): Share your unboxing photos! Week 2 (Sept 4- Sept 10): Read (or reread) Looking for Alaska I first read this book three years ago and even if I already know the things that happened in this book (because my best friend spoiled me after she read it and she was a wreck but not as ruined as when she read TFIOS), I still enjoyed this book so much. I just didn’t expect how it easy it was to end Alaska just like that, and I thought that maybe there was a chance for Pudge but we all know how it ended, but anyway I don’t really regret a thing about this book. What I love most about this book is Pudge’s hobby of learning people’s last words before they die.“So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.”Week 3 (Sept 11- Sept 17): Read (or reread) An Abundance of Katherines This book is a personal favorite of mine, I laughed so hard reading this and I felt really smartass just because this has lots of formulas drawn in it.
“How do you just stop being terrified of getting left behind and ending up by yourself forever and not meaning anything to the world?” “I don’t think your missing pieces ever fit inside you again once they go missing.”I could go on forever listing all my favorite quotes about this book! I love this book so much more than TFIOS (and maybe that’s because I already knew the ending before I read it). Week 4 (Sept 18- Sept 24): Read (or reread) Paper Towns I don’t know why but I find this book really sad (well, next to Looking for Alaska anyway). This book gives a lot of mini heart attack because I’m scared that she’ll end up like Alaska.
“The town was paper, but the memories were not.”Week 5 (Sept 25- Oct 1):Read (or reread) Will Grayson, Will Grayson Another favorite of mine! From the moment I read the synopsis of this book I’ve always wanted to read it. Of course I was right, this book is phenomenal. What can I say? That’s what you get when you pair John Green and David Levithan.
“Maybe there’s something you’re afraid to say, or someone you’re afraid to love, or somewhere you’re afraid to go. It’s gonna hurt. It’s gonna hurt because it matters.”Week 6 (Oct 2- Oct 8):Read (or reread) The Fault in Our Stars This may not be my favorite but this absolutely tore my heart into pieces. Only the heartless would never understand.
“You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world…but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.”Week 7 (Oct 10- Oct 17):Celebrate the publication of Turtles All the Way Down!!
Note: I will be updating this blog post through the weeks of the readalong so just keep posted! and don’t forget to comment down if you’re also participating in the readalong, what book you’re currently on, or leave down your blog link and I’ll visit it!
