Review: Burn For Me (Phoenix Fire #1) by Cynthia Eden

Synopsis: Eve Bradley was undercover looking for a story, not a cause. But something about the man they called Subject Thirteen got her involved. The scientists said he was a devil, and they had a decent case: Terrifying power. A bad attitude. And looks that could lead anyone to sin. . . Cain O’Connor knows the minute he catches her candy scent that Eve could drive him wild. But she’s a threat–in a way no one has been for him in years. She’s safer away from him, too. But with a powerful conspiracy determined to shut Eve up for good, there’s no time to argue. All they can do is trust their instinct – and their hearts. . . Rating: 3 Stars Genre: Paranormal Romance Review:

I don’t know what made me pick up this book. I was looking for stories about phoenixes. Along with dragons, the phoenix is one of my favorite mythical creatures.

The ability to rise again and again from ashes. The magic of it. And let me tell you, Cynthia Eden gives a whole new concept on phoenixes.

I love the way Cynthia Eden created a whole new myth for phoenixes, giving them a darker supernatural side and also a human one.

I liked the chemistry between Eve and Cain and the romance was okay.

But what I loved best was the plot with twists you didn’t expect and the fast-paced action scenes. Add in a mad scientist who wanted to know all the secrets of a phoenix. A definite page-turner.

A good first book by a new-found author.
