Review: Gemini Keeps Capricorn by Anyta Sunday

Title: Gemini Keeps Capricorn

Author: Anyta Sunday

Release Date: December 18th 2017

Rating⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Synopsis: Sometimes, one stubborn Capricorn is all it takes… to drive Wesley Hidaka to crazy, flirtatious lengths.

Wesley loves annoying his RA, Lloyd Reynolds. He just can’t help it. Lloyd is focused, decisive, grounded. He has this amusing ability to follow rules.
Of course Wesley wants Lloyd to break one… or three hundred.

Sometimes, one smirking Gemini is all it takes… to have Lloyd laying down the law and marching Wesley straight back to his dorm room.

It doesn’t stop Wesley teasing again. And again. And again…
But damn. Lloyd doesn’t crack easily. He’s full of principles. He’s unshakable.
He’s the perfect friend to have when Wesley needs help. Like with his truant brother and his old high school principal.

Sometimes, one little lie is all it takes… to find Wesley fake-engaged to his off-limits RA.

What can he say? It seemed like a good idea at the time…

My Thoughts

Gemini Keeps Capricorn is the third book in the Signs of Love series, one of my favorite series to read and then reread and then read some more because I miss these characters so much! Anyta Sunday is fantastic! Each story she writes has likable characters, an interesting plot, and so much banter. Wesley moves to the beat of his own drum regardless of what people tell him, while Lloyd, his RA, follows the rules to the letter. But when Wesley needs Lloyd, he’s there and willing to bend a bit to help. But even as they grow closer, Wesley sticks to the idea that as a Gemini and Capricorn, Lloyd wouldn’t be compatible with him. Despite faking an engagement with him…

Wesley is such an amazing character! He is the Gemini, a flirty, passionate rule-breaker. I would love having him as a friend, because I think he’d get me out of my shell. There aren’t that many characters in this series that don’t have supportive parents, so it was sad seeing Wesley’s interactions with his mother. She has some moments, but when she didn’t accept his “gaying”, it hurt.

Lloyd… I loved this Capricorn more and more as the story went on. He’s loyal, dedicated to his goals, and caring. Despite what the horoscopes say, he’s a brilliant match for Wesley. He’s the person you want in a tricky situation, like the ones Wesley always seems to find himself in. He and Wesley are seriously perfect together.

This is an incredibly slow to burn romance. I love the banter and everything, but the romance doesn’t really happen until maybe 80% through? A bit slower than the other books in the series. But there is a lot of flirting, which made it up for me. I love how characters from the other stories make an appearance! We get to see Jamie and Theo here! Unfortunately no Percy or Cal… But there’s always the fourth book if she continues this series! And I really, really hope she does. I need a Libra in this series. Before we had quotes, then definitions splitting the chapters. Now we have puns! And I love them!

The only problem I had with this story, and the reason I took off one star, was because of the beginning. I felt so confused and unsure of what was happening. I felt like there needed to be an explanation for where these characters were, what their relationship was like before the first scene, a lot of things. I don’t know. In the other two books in this series, they did a brilliant job of introducing the characters without having massive amounts of paragraphs doing just that, and I think this one didn’t really match up. It wasn’t my favorite in this series, but I love the other ones so much, so it’s kind of hard to beat Leo Loves Aries. Theo and Jamie!

Please read Anyta Sunday’s stories! She’s a great writer and I love reading all of her books, especially those in the Signs of Love series. She also write shorts stories for the characters, and I can’t wait for the one for Wesley and Lloyd! If you love slow to burn romances, you’ll love this book!
