I shall not be ashamed to admit that I looooove Kinsella’s novels. They aren’t a guilty pleasure. Just oh-my-God-give-me-another-of-her-books-now-(!!!) pleasure.
My first Kinsella book was Finding Audrey, one of her newer releases. Sadly, I didn’t enjoy it, and didn’t finish it. I mean, I did find it quite funny at many points, but I just wasn’t engaged enough. Humour books just weren’t my cup of tea, considering how I’ve read several humour novels and either gave up (Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec) or finished and 2-or-3-starred them (Jed Had to Die by Tara Sivec, The Mother Road by Meghan Quinn).
Unfortunately, a few days ago I was craving some light-hearted, fluffy romance. I googled that exact phrase for recommendations, and Kinsella’s books popped up several times. So I decided to give her another try. And boy girl am I glad that I did! I ended up reading 4 of her books in 2 days, and on one of the nights I slept at 4am despite having to wake at 8 the next day. Ugh.
I know Kinsella is most famous for her Shopaholic series, but none of the 4 books I’ve read are actually from the series, so I thought it’d be refreshing for me to spaz talk (very briefly) about these less known novels.

I’ve Got Your Number
This was my favourite! I think it was also the funniest, and I had a horrible laugh-out-loud moment except that I couldn’t actually laugh out loud because I was reading in the office, during work. (To be fair, I really didn’t have any work to do). Anyway if you’re a first-time Kinsella reader, or even a first-time chick-lit reader, I highly recommend this book. It’s all sorts of amazing.
Kinsella also added a special element into the book: hilarious footnotes that made me snort-laugh every single time. I loved them!
Can You Keep A Secret?
Honestly, this would’ve been my favourite if not for what Jack did towards the end.. (SPOILER). Still, I really enjoyed reading this and it’s what set off my Sophie Kinsella spree!
Remember Me?
I found Remember Me? on a slightly more serious note and with a lot less humour (but still some, nevertheless), but that didn’t kill the enjoyment I got from this book. It still has all things a chick-lit novel should have.
Side note, the hero in this novel (I can’t even say his name because it’s kind of a spoiler) was extremely swoon-worthy, and he loved Lexi like he couldn’t live without her. Honestly, I love it when a guy isn’t afraid to show his desperate side..
