Letting go of the past is always the hardest. How do you let go of what you’re used to? Where do you even start? Will it even be worth it? These are the kind of questions we normally ask ourselves. We focus too much on what we’ll be losing that we don’t pay any attention to what we’ll be gaining.
In most cases, we miss our moments and opportunities because of the attachment we have to our past and what didn’t happen, we become friends with our pain that even when we tell ourselves we’re tired, subconsciously we are one with it. We spend most of our lives whining, complaining & crying about the mistakes we’ve made and not focusing on the lesson learned through our trials and tribulations.
If only we’d train ourselves to understand that there’s always a positive in every negative, we’d accomplish so many things even in our storms because we’d be aware of the strength gained through all of this.
I got tired of always condemning & punishing myself because of my past, that I decided to break free from all the chains locked around me. All the chains that were stopping me from reaching my full potential because I got to understand that my past does not define me & will not determine my future. If God Himself says I’m enough, I am truly enough and no man on earth or any demon from hell will tell me otherwise. Through the Blood of Jesus which cleansed me, I’ve become Renewed, Restored & Revived. I now have the strength to look at my yesterday and say “Thank you” for preparing me for my today that will pave a way for my tomorrow.
I now walk tall, with my head held high and not prepared to look back. I’ve let go of my past, lost a few people and I’m content with it because I know & understand that those people have served their time in my life & God is making way for new people who will help carry out His Will & Purpose in my life. For He said “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper & not to harm you, plans to bring you the future you hope for” (Jeremiah 29:11).
That verse is enough for me to know that God has my back. If He can do it for me, you can Trust Him to do it for you too
