So…I sort of ignored the New Year last week. In fact, I pretty ignored the world from between Christmas and a day or two after New Year’s because…sick! This is like the 3rd year a row that I’ve been sick over the holidays and let me tell you, it SUCKS! Big time. Anyway, I was in bed sleeping off flu/cold/cough medications long before midnight. Besides, it was cold outside! It’s been cold outside a lot lately. Which makes sense since it is winter.
Since I’ve been sick, there isn’t a whole lot going on in my world. I am teaching a class for RWA’s Kiss of Death Mystery and Suspense chapter this month. We’re discussing psychics, ghosts, magic, and all those things that go bump in the night and how to apply them to a suspense or mystery work in progress.
Not doing much reading but I am going through audio books like crazy. Luckily, not only does my local library subscribe to Overdrive, they’ve also now subscribed to Hoopla and I can download six items a month from that site. The series I’m currently doing a re-listen to because the newest book comes out this month is Michelle Sagara’s Chronicles of Elantra, a fantasy series. I own some of early volumes of the audio books, Overdrive had the middle ones that I could check out and download, but didn’t have the last set of books. Hoopla does so yay! I want to own the series eventually but…budget! I’m also looking forward to the next IN DEATH book, also coming out this month.
Writing is coming in little pieces at the moment. I have a Brotherhood Protectors Kindle World book to finish up and get ready for release in early April. The fabulous Elle James invited me to play in her world. Tate “Shooter” McCord, former Navy SEAL, current lone Wolf shifter, and part-time contract employee of the Brotherhood Protectors company has an old favor called in by Ian “Mac” McIntire, of the Moonstruck Wolves. Lauren Reilly is running for her life and can’t trust anyone. Until a sexy former SEAL tracks her down, kidnaps her, and takes a bullet for her. Fun times! I know who the characters are now so their story should start to unfold quickly now.
Sports are…how many days until pitchers and catchers report? ‘Nuff said.
