Baby steps to taking charge of and changing my life, right?
Or maybe I’d like to think about it like bad credit debt. I’ve always heard the advice that if you have debt sitting in your credit report bringing you down, you should start with the smallest amount owed and pay that off. Then pay off the next smallest amount and keep moving upward.
My personal life has got a lot of “debt” and my body, my emotional health, and my life all around is suffering for it. I am trying to tackle the smallest things first and I’ll work my way up to the larger “debts”.
Stair steps and medications: CHECK!
Next: Water.
Confession time: I do not drink water.
Not, “I don’t drink enough water,” or “I really need to drink more water.”
I don’t drink water at all. Ever.
I drink mostly Moutain Dew. I also drink coffee. That’s it!
I know how insane this is! Life-long habits are so hard to break.
One of my debts is getting rid of Mountain Dew and allowing myself some coffee but mostly water.
My baby step goal: Water. I’ve put a small 8oz glass in the bathroom. Each time I go to the bathroom, I will make myself drink a full 8oz before I leave. This is do-able. Being 42-years-old, mom of five and diabetic, I run to the bathroom often. I can also just down 8oz of water.
I’m not sure when I’ll completely drop the Mountain Dew, but that’s going to be coming up soon.
