review 1: I have read books two and three in this series and found book three to have a much stronger plot. In this book Marianna shows a stronger personality and intellect. She is still struggling with following her Amish Heritage and her parent's wishes, but she does not blindly change her mind about her future as she did in book two. There are shocking twists and turns in this book , and frankly, some events that seem unbelievable. Someone father's a baby that obviously looks just like him, yet his own mother does not see the resemblance even when she knew there had been a relationship between the two young people???? This book was a one day read for me.
review 2: Lots of crying, lots of arm crossing, lots of preaching. Honestly, I found this book to be really
... more boring. Which is weird because normally I really like Amish fiction. Normally, even if a book is badly written, I can get some entertainment out of it. This one not so much. I had it figured out about 10% of the way through. Perhaps I didn't like it because it was the last in a series. I hadn't read the first two and therefore have nothing invested. Or it was just a really boring book. less
