review 1: OK, so book 3 was amazing...and then this book was not. It was one of the stupidest last-book-in-a-series ever. WHY do writers think it's OK to do a reboot of things and rehash shit when they run out of ideas? I mean come on - that's why I didn't read the last book in the "Hush, Hush" series. I started reading this immediately after reading book 3, and when I got to a "certain part" I got so pissed off and started skimming...and skimming...and skimming until I was all the way at the end and things went back to normal and it was all over. So yeah, I read the whole thing in about an hour and a half. I've done that before with skimming, but I've always gone back and read it for real...with this, it's just not worth it. I read the entire ending and was not confused in the slig... morehtest - so basically the entire book was completely pointless. So disappointing compared to the rest of the series. But hey, I tend to get super attached to characters and don't like when writers mess with them, so maybe other people that don't get ridiculously attached would find it better.
review 2: Love Lon and Cady - what chemistry and even with an established relationship there are some hot scenes. Jupe is such an awesome character - I loved his teen puberty issues. It was a great end to the series, although I wish that the horrible mother had more of a role in this book. There was a lot of detective work, and not as much of the kick ass fighting between Cady and her mom as I'd hoped for, given that their conflict was the central plot. Even the end battle seemed rather rushed given the series build up. Ah well, still an awesome series worth re-reading. less
