Stila Written In The Stars – Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Set | Review

Hello everyone! As another treat to myself I bought the Stila Written In The Stars gift set. I have been wanting to try their glitter eyeshadows for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to try them!

I am so late on this bandwagon and I have no idea why. For £25 on Stila.co.uk and £28 on Boots.com you get 3 mini shades. Where as a full size shade is £23. The gift set is described on Boots.com as:

Add starry-eyed sparkle with this trio of long-wearing, lustrous eye shadows. The perfect mix of pearl and glitter adorns eyes with incredible sequin-like shine.
Includes three deluxe sizes of our favorite dazzling shades.
Long-lasting sparkle that stays put.
Luxuriously smooth lay-down.
Lightweight, comfortable wear.

Shades: Diamond Dust, Kitten Karma, Smoky Storm

The photos above are with just one swipe of each shade, the left is without flash and the other with flash. From top to bottom: Diamond Dust, Kitten Karma and Smoky Storm.

The photos above are with a second coat over each shade, the left is without flash and the right is with flash. From top to bottom: Diamond Dust, Kitten Karma and Smoky Storm.

I am obsessed with using these. They are so quick and easy to apply to the eyelids and don’t take long at all to dry down! The applicator is quite big, but makes it easy to cover the lid quickly.

The above photos are of on coat of Diamond Dust all over the lid. I blended out the edges of the glitter using a small fluffy brush with a light brown to give the look more depth. The right photo is slightly blurry so you can see just how glittery they are!

I added Smoky Storm on the outer corner of the eye to give more depth as well as adding a second layer of Diamond Dust.

They can be worn on their own with just a light colour blended into the crease for an effortless everyday look, or with a wing and added to add more to the eyes or ombre together. Either way I love wearing them, especially with bold lips! I have found that sometimes a second layer is necessary to make the lid more pigmented. But it dries so quickly, doesn’t crease or transfer of easily.

I adore these glitter eyeshadows, as someone who is notorious for being late to things (I genuinely believe I can do more in 5 minutes than I actually can. No matter how many times I fail to do everything in 5, I will still believe next time I can) they are so quick and easy to apply! I need more of them in my life!
