Hello reader/s! For a while now, I’ve been writing a bi-weekly post about books that are on my TBR. TBR, if you don’t know is the abbreviation for To Be Read. My goal here is to shed some light on books that I’ve otherwise forgotten about. These books could be books I’ve been meaning to read from the library, or books that have been collecting dust on my shelves at home. My goal though is to say a little about the book and also give a little reasoning of why I want to read them. In hopes of reading them sooner than later.
Todays two books include two Young Adult (YA) books! I know that for the last few I’ve mixed the TBR Tuesday’s with one YA and an Adult Fiction (General Fiction) novel. Today though, its two YA books. Another bonus of these two books is that they’re both stand-alones!
The first book features a girl who has woken up in a hospital only to find out that she’s forgotten the last year of her life. The second book has two points of view which should be interesting. I’ve heard nothing but bad reviews of this book though. Onto the books, shall we?
Where It Began by Ann Redisch Stampler is the first book that I’ll be talking about.
Where It Began is a realistic fiction with some mystery behind it. I’m honestly looking forward to this novel, even though when I think about Where It Began, I can’t help but be reminded Don’t Look Back (by Jennifer L. Armentrout).
I have a high suspicion that the main character, Gabby, does have something to do with the accident that landed her in the hospital. However, it’s more suspicious for her boyfriend (and the rest of her friends) to distance themselves form her.
I have no idea what will happen in Where It Began. I’m trying to keep it that way, haha.
The second book is All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. When this book first came out, I heard a lot of great things. Then came the onslaught of bad reviews, saying that there’s a buttload of misrepresentation of Mental Illness within the story.
I actually started reading All the Bright Places a little while after I first initially bought the book. However, I only got to about the eighth page before I stopped reading.
I have no doubt that the story between these two characters will develop into something more. I wouldn’t be surprised if they fell madly, head over heels in love with each other. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the love got too intense. I expect that after this, this is where the story gets crazy. Crazy as in, this is where the majority of the misrepresentation of their individual mental illnesses would be, as well as throughout the rest of the book.
I really don’t know what to expect with either of these books. What I do know is that they should have interesting stories..
