God gives us free will and the freedom to follow His way. He also gives us the freedom to follow our own path. God giving us the liberty to choose does not mean that God tolerates sin. He does not! When we fight against God to do things our way, He permits us to teach us; to give us the opportunity to come to our senses; so that we can learn from it and turn from it. I was compelled to write on this topic in light of the complete moral deterioration occurring within my country. How did things get this way? Plain and simple, people do what’s right in their own eyes. Before I go any further, I would like to be clear on one thing. Our opinions are useless if they go against what God says. Defiance against God leads to one place, Hell. God allows us to go off in our defiance briefly. Those who continue their lives in defiance to God, rejecting His authority will be cut off from Him. Proverbs 1:24-33 supports this statement: “Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently but will not find me. Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, would have none of my counsel and despised all my reproof, therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way, and have their fill of their own devices. For the simple are killed by their turning away, and the complacency of fools destroys them; but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster.” It does not matter what sins the courts here on Earth rule in favor of (i.e. Abortion, recreational drug use, homosexuality, divorce, polytheism, vengeance). The Earth is God’s footstool. It does not matter what you think and or believe. If your thoughts/beliefs are not in agreement with God’s word you are in grave danger of spending eternity apart from Him. “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation” (2 Peter 3:3). This relaxed frame of thinking will catch many people off guard when God calls them to stand before His council and give an account for their lives. Don’t be deceived! Our lives are short and can be snuffed out without a moments notice. This reality is what has stopped me dead in my tracks. I would be a complete fool to not take caution. Taking the warnings God has placed in my life and in my dreams, I have decided to drop everything and follow His direction. I pray for each of you reading this to do the same. Remember life is short, eternity is forever.
