It’s finally all over, the hubbub of the holidays, the over indulgence, the lack of routine (not to mention exercise!!) and the lazy, slow mornings. I’ve already written about our plan and our good intentions so this is our first opportunity to prove that we can do it.
To get us off to a flying start Daisy Doodle had to be up, bright and early for her very first paper round. Difficult though it was to drag herself out of her warm, cosy bed she went off with a smile, bundled up in hat, scarf and gloves. I’m amazed she could move with that amount of padding!!
Once she was up and out of the house it was easy to follow suit and to be honest it was great to be up, with all the chores done and the house tidy, just after breakfast. It also made for a much calmer ‘schooling’ situation as there’s nothing worse than a dishwasher full of crockery and a laundry pile waiting to be washed to put you off of your stride. I’m honestly not obsessive but I do like our surroundings to be neat and tidy whilst school work is being done. I think the old adage “tidy house, tidy mind” is very true.
