Hi Everybody,
The paperbacks are here! Yay!!I’m very happy to announce that the paperback version of Same Family, Different Colors will be on sale in stores on October 3, 2017. But thanks to the miracle of the Internet, you can already order yours today. The price for one copy of Same Family, Different Colors on Amazon is seriously less than what you’d spend on a grass-fed burger and fries at Shake Shack, and it won’t make you feel greasy and bloated. ( I still love you Shake Shack!) So, what are you waiting for? Get that color conversation going and please help me spread the news. BTW, I’ve just updated my events calendar so you can tell your friends and family where they might be able to see me do a reading or how they can contact me to come to their organization, school or book club.
Bottom line, America needs to start talking about color in a major way.
I recently heard a great color conversation about race and color in Brazil on a Rough Translation podcast. In Brazil, being Black is really now about skin color and phenotype not who your ancestors procreated with. Quite frankly, I think those are the conversations we should be having here too. What do you think? Is it time to retire race and really drill down on color? I’m listening.
