review 1: A good summer read. Alternating between the fall/winter of 1931, when Lily falls in love with Nick, to summer of 1938, when Nick shows up at the Seaview, the town where Lily summers, married to her frenemy Budgie. While I liked the way the Hurricane of 1938 was tied into the story, the resolution of the book's mysteries and the ending seemed a bit contrived. That said, you quickly get into the book and it is an easy & entertaining read.
review 2: Good book, fun romance. The chapters switch back and forth between events 1931, when the main couple met, and 1938. I found myself speed reading through the chapters trying to find out what happened to the chapters. I really enjoyed it. It reminded me a little of the great gatsby with the excessive drinking and
... moresmoking. Also, there are quite a few descriptive sexual encounters so this is not something I would recommend to anyone. less

A good summer read. Easy and with an engaging enough plot.
