The Sisterhood of the Travelling Bookworms consists of six members at the minute – Myself, Nicola, Paige, Harriet, Ash and Laura. You may have also noticed that this isn’t the first time I mention the girls or The Sisterhood in this blog.
So far we haven’t all been in the same place together but we pretty much group chat everyday about books and various random subjects (siriusly super random and weird). This all started because of the lovely Paige, and I’m so thankful to have met five of the most lovely Bookish people out there.
I have decided that from now on I will document in my blog any adventures The Sisterhood has together, and hope that soon enough we can all be together in the same place for the first time. (Wouldn’t that be the best Christmas wish come true!)
Last Saturday, four members of The Sisterhood got to do Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park. I have hang out with the lovely Harriet before, but this was the first time that we got to meet Ash and Laura. Ash unfortunately lives all the way in Wales and this was the first time she was able to come to London to meet up.
We started by meeting up by the Mable Arch. Actually, I started by losing all my breath going up the broken escalators at Marble Arch Underground Station, for them to start working when I’m halfway up! Anyway, we met up under the Marble Arch (how romantic!), and then we tackled the 30 minutes of queues to get inside!
After all that queueing we saw the Wonderbar right in front of us, and what better way to start this adventure than with a lovely cup of mulled wine? (Except for Laura, as a responsible driver she had a bottle of coke.)
We went for a little stroll around the little stalls while we chat away too. Me and Laura shared Hypermobility battle stories, but mostly the conversation was effortless, just like when we converse online and that’s pretty wonderful.
As we were getting super hungry, myself and Harriet decided to go eat some german sausage. I got a spicy bratwurst and then milked the sauces out of their weird sauce thing (I looks like you milking a cow, I know it because have done it before!). Ash decide to go straight for the crepes, so once we ate our sausages, I then got a delicious kinder bar crepe (Two kinder bars melted in the crepe! Heaven! Me and Ash approve!) and Harriet got a Nutella one.
We didn’t went on any rides as the queues were enormous, also I think me and Laura would probably dislocate half of our bodies on it. But we got to be Santa’s elves and also saw an wooden Olaf and a creepy ‘statue’ that at first I thought I was drunk from one glass of mulled wine because I swear I saw the bird move. It was only on our second round around the statue that we noticed that it speaks and moves after certain time. Freaking creepy!
Overall, it was a great evening with my bookworm sisters. Just sad that Paige and Nicola couldn’t be there. (We shall be together very soon)
Make sure to keep an eye on our upcoming adventures here on my blog and don’t forget to check out my girls blogs too, as they are freaking brilliant.
Wonder over,
