review 1: This is something that I stumbled on quite by accident while looking at some of this production company's assorted titles. It was free so I gave it a shot, using this as I am sure it is intended: to see if the story hooks me enough to want to check out some of this author's other stuff.I just added several books to my wish list so I would not forget.First, the cons: it gets a bit vulgar for vulgarity's sake. Yes, I know that this is an adult book, but the narration does not need to read like it is a sailor on leave. Make your point with more creativity. And the climactic scene where torture is preferable to killing had me sort of scratching my head. The pros: This tale is raw and visceral. It grabs you almost right away and does not let go. As a writer, I can appreciate som... moreebody who grabs me with the first sentence or phrase. The descriptive nature is fantastic.
review 2: Very earthy ZA (Zombie Apocalypse) story of a Mountain Man, Gus, who gets captured in a hospital by a crazy old woman in a nursery ward. Yeah, picture that. He is tied up and helpless and it gets worse from there. I have wondered about the Mountain Man series and got the opportunity to read this one free. I get it now. Very down to earth, very real portrayal of a normal adult man during the ZA, I will definitely read more Mountain Man books. less
