It was not until when i’m 20 plus years of age that i get to know what is this yearly ritual of new year resolution that happens around the world. It is indeed not too late for me to know this because during that point of my life, i slowly started to discover my purpose in life. It is also why new year resolution does means a lot for me in aspiring for the coming year from that time on.

New year resolution does proves its value in providing a time in the year for you to stop and reflect on the past year. The questions we asked: What have i completed? Which part i still need to improve? What have i missed out? Is it too far to be achieved? It is not until this point that we came to realize:

  • What we set is achievable?
  • So i have completed this, what’s next?
  • I need to do something to improve this, why is it partial achieve?
  • The satisfaction on the completion of goals is indeed refreshing. But we are not to missed out the ultimate purpose of setting goals i.e. an aim for us to finish this race of life God has set for us. This year is just another small portion of the eternity rope that God has set for us (As what Francis Chan said). Even so, it still takes up 1% of our life here on earth. And indeed it is up to us how are we going to steward this amount of time given by God.

Philippians 3:14 – English Standard Version (ESV)
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

I pray this year i can make a good steward of my time. I also pray that this post will serves as a reminder for me this year to be dedicate and committed in develop my writing skills, utilizing it to bless others.
