Today #BoldandBeautiful fans on Twitter were stunned from this announcement by Thorne Forrester’s most recent portrayer, Winsor D. Harmon:
Out of the 3 actors who have played Thorne on B&B, Harmon has been the longest reigning to date and despite fans love and loyalty to this character, his absence from the show has long thought to be as a result of the Thorne being written into a corner.
Believed to be living overseas in Paris working at Forrester International with his sister Felicia, special occasions and family holidays have only brought Thorne home to LA for very short stints of time.
And who could blame him? LA just seems to embody never ending heartache for Eric and Stephanie’s true and only biological son. Has he lived in the shadow of his half-brother Ridge, who both his parents and certain women in his life favoured.
Despite being Eric’s true heir, he has been passed over for the role of CEO at Forrester Creations to the point where it seems he has given up all hope of ever attaining the position. It’s not that Thorne never aspired to run his family company, or make it on his own for that matter!
It is the sad reality that Thorne Forrester may be one of the most tragic characters on B&B.
A man who has suffered the death of his soul-mate Macy, his beloved wife & baby-mama Darla, as well as his dear mother Stephanie thought he had gone through the worst.
Until his baby girl Alexandria Forrester died on the same highway her mother was killed.

Alexandria was Thorne’s lifeline and her death was cruel as it was senseless. It was also the breaking point, the final blow that Thorne might never recover from.
With his hope and ambition laid to rest with the body of his daughter, all signs were pointing that this was the final nail in the coffin. The dead-end for Thorne…and a wretched one at that.
SO WHY THE RECAST?
The stories unfolding presently as a result of Bill’s Spencer Tower Scheme have left plenty of openings where Thorne could get involved.
Or how about Ridge’s affair with Quinn, Eric’s wife?
I’ve narrowed it down to three possibilities.
Business:
With Eric disowning his former favourite son, could it be the change Thorne has been waiting for? To step up as Eric’s favourite son and true heir to Forrester Creations?
Well…don’t get too excited. Considering Eric has already forgiven Quinn and Ridge still has his Co-CEO job at Forrester Creations, I don’t see this storyline as the vehicle for Thorne’s return.
Also scandals involving Ridge are nothing new. For someone who seems to have lost his ambition to lead Forrester Creations, this is not something I see making Thorne want to jump on the next jet home.
So if not for business, maybe…
Love:
Oh Brooke. She was really trying to make this marriage work. The kind of wife she was to Bill demonstrated how far she has come since her previous attempts at marriage. Brooke was a supportive, adoring wife who let Bill take the lead. She has come a long way and seems to have finally grown up. She seems finally content to settle down with eyes for only one man as her companion.
Then after learning of his despicable deeds she has decided to end their relationship. Brooke Logan is actually listening to her head instead of her heart!
Many Brooke fans do not want to see her go back to Ridge. Especially since she caught him kissing his step-mother the day before their wedding was supposed to happen. Their 30 year on and off relationship is not a healthy one, and maybe it is time for Brooke to turn to someone else.
Anyone remember #THROOKE? Because it totally happened. Brooke and Thorne’s romance was one born out of friendship. Their union reignited the feud between Stephanie and Brooke and was also the centrepiece of the infamous shoot B&B did in Portofino, Italy.
Could Thorne return as kind of man Brooke has been searching for all along? And could Brooke be the one to mend Thorne’s grief-stricken heart?
Well maybe…but to be honest I hope Thorne comes back for this next reason. And that reason is…
Family:
It’s the soapiest reason of all and Liam Spencer is the key. Or could we say…Liam Forrester?
You heard me. When Liam first appeared on B&B he was known as Liam Cooper. An IT support guy who journeyed to LA with clues from his late mother about his real father’s identity.
The candidates narrowed down to two: Bill Spencer and Thorne Forrester
With Bill eager to quash the idea of having a son like Liam, a paternity test was ordered. Awaiting the results, both Thorne and Liam hoped to learn that they were father and son and that Liam could be a big brother to his daughter Alexandria.
Looking at Liam and considering the type of man he was, Thorne was the most believable father out of the two, but for the sake of soap drama of course Bill was announced as Liam’s dad.
Since then, Bill has often questioned the DNA test results when criticising Liam. While Wyatt and Bill are quite alike, Liam always seemed different. Now with this feud between Bill and Liam over Spencer Publications erupting, this fact has never been more pivotal.
Spencer Tower is a dividing force. First it drove apart Thomas and Sally, then Bill and Liam. Now Bill and Brooke’s marriage is crumbling and it looks like it is coming between Liam and Steffy as well.
Liam is sitting comfortably in Bill’s seat as CEO of their family business. His brother Wyatt is hot on his trail, and Bill is planning his next attack.
What bad timing would it be if it came to light that the DNA test was wrong or tampered with? That Liam Spencer is actually not a Spencer at all?
The repercussions of this is not only catastrophic for Liam’s career, but his marriage as well!
If Thorne Forrester was Liam’s father that would make Steffy his blood relative. Sharing the same blood as Steffy’s namesake, the late Stephanie Forrester!

Considering that #STEAM almost had a child together this nugget of history could send them both into meltdown.
Steffy has loved Liam for most of her adult life. No matter how ugly the breakup she still returned to his side. Not even factoring in Liam providing aide to Sally Spectra against Steffy’s wishes, this revelation would be a game changer. If their relationship equates to incest it is a point of no return.
And Thorne? The news he still has a child in this world is definitely motivation for him to hop on a plane and get his ass back to LA! Liam could use a father.
Oh, and in the end it could always turn out to be Bill’s ultimate revenge scheme. Doctoring the DNA test would give Bill the ammunition to take Liam out of his chair, out of his life…
Not to mention, Liam’s wife.
