Thoughts about My Writing

My original plan for this post was for it to be an update post and it still is. But it is also so much more. After weeks of writers block, I finally was able to, with the help of one of my best friends and fellow writer Kristina, write Chapter 15 of my current WIP. For some reason with this particular chapter, I had been able to figure out the beginning of it and then Jamie’s POV but I wanted there to be an ending scene in Helena’s POV but just couldn’t figure it out. Luckily, Kristina was able to help me! Thank you so much Kristina! Hopefully, the chapter came out all right. I am never sure of my writing. At one moment, I love it and the next I shudder at the sight of it.

Though suffering from writers block is never a fun thing to endure, this hiatus from my WIP gave me time to think about my writing. During this time, I came to realize that my idea for book 2 in my Helena St. James mystery series didn’t really fit the series–even though I loved the idea of it. This realization may or may not have occurred to me if I had been focused on writing. From this realization came the birth of one of my new story ideas.

Anyway, now that the update is out of the way, let’s turn to the next item on this week’s post. See the photo above. That pretty much sums up myself lately. Even though I couldn’t seem to break through my writer’s block, my brain was still able to come up with several new story ideas. Ones that make me what to put my current WIP on the backburner so I can work on one of these new story ideas.

Keep an eye out for either a blog post about these new story ideas or a newsletter!
