A Needlecraft Mystery
review 1: Needle-crafters and whodunit readers will enjoy Monica Ferris', "Crewel World, Betsy Devonshire, Needlecraft Mystery Series." This installment, though slightly less engaging as others, is fast, fun and entertaining. The "Crewel World" Excelsior, Minnesota characters are a potpourri mix - everything from dowdy to the eccentric. And at the back of each book is a needlecraft pattern of various needle form. This installment, featuring murder and the dyeing of yarn/floss, has an interesting cross-stitch pattern, titled "Argyle Clock Towers," by Mary Monica. Overall, "And Then You Dye" is three stars, with four star creative moments.
review 2: not as fond of this one as with the previous ones in the series. I do like Betsy questioning her status as an amateur dete
... morective and should she get a PI license. Somehow I missed the whole setting up and sending out the template contest in the store until the results came in. The results sounded totally fab and I wished there were illustrations of them in the book. The situation with R wrapped up a bit too quickly for my taste however it did wrap up in a way which is open to the possibility the subject can be revisited. less
