It’s almost a new year! Which means resolutions, life goals and most of all, a new year for wonderful books! Personally, I don’t tend to make resolutions because I’m such an impulsive person that sticking to any one goal is really hard. But I’ve made a vow to myself that in the upcoming year I’m going to be reading and reviewing more of the books that I own and have on my bookshelves. And while it means I won’t be posting as many reviews about newer books, there will still be fresh content being posted here. I’ll still be reading new books, but my own collection is going to take precedence.
However, there are definitely a few books that I’m looking forward to reading next month when they come out! I think this is the first month where I’ve had more than one to look forward to.
Beneath the Sugar Sky is a title you’ll probably recognize from the Top Five list that I did back in October. It’s the third book in the Wayward Children series by Seanan McGuire. Go read my reviews of both books if you want to know more about the series. I’d highly recommend it.
The Cruel Prince by Holly Black is another book that I’m looking forward to. While I haven’t read her other faerie books, I’ve heard very highly of them from others. And everything about this book from the cover to the reviews I’ve already seen has me intrigued. The cover is absolutely gorgeous without being overwhelming. And I’m a sucker for tales about the fae.
The Lost Plot by Genevieve Cogman, oh my goodness. I am beyond excited for this book. Like, even with my personal vow I’m going to be putting all other books aside to devour this one. With the way that the last book ended, I’ve just been pining for any new piece of information about Irene and Kai. The world-building in this series is phenomenal, as is the whole concept in general. If you never read any other book I recommend, then please at least read The Invisible Library.
