review 1: Lainey is planning to spend the summer playing soccer and hanging out with her boyfriend Jason but her plans are derailed when Jason breaks up with her. What's a girl to do? With the help of her friend, Bianca and the book The Art Of War, Lainey is determined to win Jason back. This plan involves her fake dating a friend from work, Micah and flaunting her fake relationship in front of Jason to make him jealous. But nothing ever goes like it should and Lainey has to face some tough questions, does she really want Jason back? & what's wrong with a real relationship with Micah? This was a cute, fun read. I always like when romance is mixed with sports and food. It's great to see Lainey grow and mature through the summer, hopefully starting her senior year being more like the ... moreself she wants to be. review 2: I believe this story could have had a lot of potential but for me it fell flat. I just couldn't connect with the main character, Lainey. She was a bit too whiney thinking that her life is now over because her boyfriend broke up with her. It took her a while to come to the conclusion that maybe her ex just wasn't right for her. I do understand where she was coming from a little bit though. She was with her ex for 2 years and in high school that's a lifetime. less
