Hey everyone!
This is a new feature for me but one I thought worth giving a shot on my return from accidental hiatus. Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature where I highlight forthcoming titles I’m particularly excited about. Today we’re talking about books coming out on September 5th. This event is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
One. I Hate Everyone But You by Gabby Dunn and Allison Raskin
I’m a relative newcomer to Gabby and Allison’s work. I started listening to Bad With Money towards the end of last year and started watching their YouTube channel from that. This book is told in texts and emails between two best friends on opposites coasts for college. Will their friendship survive the distance? I’m really excited for this and hope it will be pretty good overall.
Two. Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart
I’ve really enjoyed a lot of E. Lockhart’s books, so this has been on my radar. While I wasn’t nearly as obsessed with We Were Liars as everyone else, I still enjoyed it, and this seems like it will be in a similar vein. It advertises itself as the story of two girls with an intense friendship and possible murder. The synopsis doesn’t really explain a whole lot, and I expect that like We Were Liars, it’s a book meant to be read with as little information as possible. Since I went on a bit of a thriller kick this month, I’m really looking forward to seeing how this.
Three. Nothing by Annie Barrows
I’m in love with the premise of this book. Charlotte and Frankie are two normal teenagers. They don’t have super powers; they don’t fight crime. They just live normal lives. Nothing remarkable ever happens to them, unlike the girls they read about in YA books. However, when Charlotte decides to start writing everything down to prove there is no plot or character development in real life, she discovers her life maybe isn’t as boring as she thought. This seems like a cute fun read and a great way to end summer/begin fall.
Now it’s your turn, what releases are you most looking forward to? Let me know in the comments!
