review 1: The good in the book was that it was fast paced and the story was interesting, but there were too many bad things - all the constant ramblings about past cases (and Maggie never seems to recover from them and it's getting tiring that she never lets no one enter her life, why creating love interests if they just slip through the books??), the bad guy was way too easy to stop, too many loose ends, and why the need to create a mystery from the start of the book only to "save it" for the next one in the series? This book was too much "average".
review 2: I have always loved the Maggie O'Dell series! This particular book in the series was a little too short for me, and I think it could have had more story line inside of it. I figured out who the arsonist was by page
... more 160. My question to myself is, was every reader supposed to know so we had our own little secret during the story? Or have I gotten so good that I can figure these out now by myself? Still a great book, a great series, and looking forward the the next book to be out today I believe! less

A nice thriller - the big reveal is a little obvious, but I enjoyed the characters.
