Soul Fitness is my baby blog which was born in 2016. It happened suddenly when I just needed an outlet to write down my thoughts and share these discussions with like-minded people.
It all began after years of participating in mindless TV shows, scrolling past thousands of Insta celebrities, watching too many beauty gurus and reading fashion blogs. My feeds are saturated with physical fitness and beauty standards. It’s a mission for me to find content that isn’t about fitness, beauty, or that perfect lifestyle that people pretend to have. Listen, I still look at those things because sometimes you just need to relax. But I just wanted to add something else out there.
I know lots of people who are physically fit, but so many of us are not mentally fit and I think everyone can agree that our souls these days aren’t being nourished properly. I don’t think that it’s a surprise to anyone when I say that we live in a shallow society, where your body sells more than your soul does. We are essentially growing into a soul-less society.
This is how I came up with ‘Soul Fitness.’ Because I feel the need to exercise my soul with nourishing, healthy and realistic thoughts. I don’t want to look or act plastic.
Hopefully by reading my content or participating in the discussions, you can exercise your soul and have a taste of reality. I am not here to pretend that life is perfect, that I have the perfect body, that I know which beauty products are the best or that I have a lifestyle that I will flaunt in your face for you to envy. Also, you can be assured that I will never write something just because I’m getting paid for it.
I struggle with keeping up my regular posts because sometimes I do fall under the pressure of “post a selfie, exploit your relationship, over post so people notice you…” And so on and so forth. It exhausts me and I hate feeling like I need to do that. That is what bloggers are told to do. Sell yourself so you get more “readers.”
I don’t want to sell myself. I want a creative outlet because I love writing. I have something different to give to the internet that I’m hoping is steering away from the general direction in which we are all moving.
This is what Soul Fitness is. Reading content that will nurture your soul, help you come back down to earth and hopefully make you feel good and full of self-worth. Keeping our minds, bodies and souls fit.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Lots of love,
Magda xx
