When worlds collide

This morning I woke up with a deep sense of gratitude, and began this day expressing this gratitude to God. This expression was later confirmed as I finished Hallie Lord’s book On the Other Side of Fear: How I Found Peace and completed a chapter in The Morning Miracle where both books spoke of expressing gratitude. Gratitude was my 2017 word of the year and it seem that this will be part of 2018. Part of the gratitude today comes from hearing some quilt industry news that opened my eyes to some of God’s movement over the last year or so.

There is a sense of renewal in the quilting, I’m not sure where this is leading, but I’m going to follow it, like a breath of fresh air, a refreshing spring rain, lemonade on a warm summer afternoon.

For a little while the thought was do something simple, back to the roots of quilting  Through a conversation with a friend there is a desire to do something challenging. Time to think about what this will look like will be welcome.

In the meantime taking the time in the morning for prayer, and reading before doing other things is reminding me of the need for me to be grateful in this moment of my life, right here, right now. This is a gift, that will, like the quilting be explored with gratitude, connecting more deeply with God.

The deeper connection comes as I connect with my tools: fabric, thread, rotary cutter, mat, rulers, ideas.

May your stitching bring you closer to Jesus.
