I think we can skip the intro, you absolutely know who Meghan Markle is and why she’s this week’s hot topic. And will be for the next, oh, 50 years or so. She’s the future wife of Prince Harry, yes, but more importantly she’s an accomplished, interesting, clever cookie with really, really good style.
As I sit here in my freezing cold house, awaiting an oil delivery while shivering under a huge jumper, thick leggings and two pairs of socks, not to mention ear muffs to bring life back to my numb little ears, I am primarily focused on winter warming style at the moment. Luckily for us that’s where Meghan shines, having lived in the frigid depths of chilly Toronto for the run of her tenure on Suits.
She tends to pair her casual winter style with a yoga mat, but feel free to swap that for a hot chocolate (or even better, a warming Christmas rum from Galway’s Christmas Market.)
Meghan also nails the slightly dressier daytime look, perfect for a spot of Christmas shopping followed by hot ports by the fire in a cosy pub.
Need something to wear for work? Something like this’ll do nicely!
This is one of the best formal looks I’ve seen on Meghan; it’s a gorgeous red shade, a beautiful shape and paired perfectly with her soon-to-be-sis-in-law’s favoured pieces – nude shoes! Lovely for a Christmas ball or New Year’s Eve.
In a move that raised eyebrows over at Daily Mail towers, Meghan eschewed the satin finish tights that Royals including Kate wear for her engagement photo-call. Kate made them acceptable for people like me with bumpy, grey legs to hide (I wrote an homage to tights before, you can read it here!), so I hope that they won’t fall out of favour again thanks to Meghan. Although chances are they will, as she revitalises and modernises the House of Windsor. Welcome to the family Meghan!
