Baby, its cold outside.
Its been an unusually cruel winter here in the Mid-Atlantic so far. Its been that bone chilling, fireplace huddling, static cling shocking, fighting over the “good blanket”, say a little prayer every time the heat kicks back on kind of cold.
Which could make an outdoor-loving photographer feel rather down and out if it weren’t for adventurous families who know that the season has something to offer.
It wasn’t snowing the day we went to shoot but there was still a bit of snow on the ground. It added something to this mini session that other sessions in the same location had missed. Fall is the busiest, most popular time to get photos taken and I do love the color in the trees every bit as much as the next gal. But by the time you are sending out holiday wishes with those leaf loving pictures, thoughts have turned away from pumpkins towards wooly sweaters and hot chocolate. And just like that, fall feels, “so last season”.
While there is much from the fall that I am excited to share, I’ll begin the New Year with something that feels familiar and now. Don’t hesitate to call for photos this winter, I’m up for snowmen, igloos, rosy cheeks and mittens. Let’s chill.
Happy New Year and welcome, 2018!
