review 1: This book would make an excellent movie! Having said that- it was also one of the most enjoyable military sci-fi books I'd read this year. I love the universe he built - especially since I'm a fan of "Starcraft" and "Beyond Earth", the action sequences definitely had that visceral and immediate video game feel to it. The writing AND the science were good or at least for the most part theoretically possible - which isn't usual in this type of book. Engaging characters, interesting scenarios, adrenaline inducing action sequences and pretty solid science. I'd totally recommend it to anyone who loves this genre.
review 2: Lines of departure was a decent sequel to Terms of Enlistment. Although the characters developed a little more, this novel left out much of the h
... moreuman side. Much of it was predictable and sometimes a little too soft. I did like that there was no deus ex machina at the end but i feel like much f the plot was forced. I will still look for a sequel if there is going to be one but my automatic reading of the next book will be less enthusiastic. Marko Kloos is a good writer i just hope that he doesn't waste all these books to find his sweet spot. less

Just not my cup of tea. I've been reading a lot of those recently.
