review 1: Amazing book that transports you into the bush of Africa. Whereas his first book was a poignant memoir, this one is a stellar example of storytelling. He captures the voices of his characters eloquently, transmitting the bittersweet memories of the village elders and the reluctant optimism of a peoples trying to recover the collective memory of a lost country. It is truly haunting, beautiful prose.
review 2: Oh my God! Another amazing book by Ishmael Beah! This fiction novel was completely perfect. I have no complaints. Ishmael Beah is a gifted and eloquent writer and his way of telling stories places you amongst the charactersnof the book as if you are actually with them. In Radiance of Tomorrow a once beautiful and lively town is destroyed by the war but i
... mores then revisted by the people that once lived there. While trying to put the pieces back together the people of the village come to find that much more has changed than just the beauty of their home that once was. During the novel the characters come to find forgiveness, deal with great loss and imense change, scandel, and violence. I wish I could give more than 5 stars of a rating to this novel. Superb it is! less
