Wish Me Home is a heartfelt story about a courageous woman, Cara Butter, and her extraordinary journey, pedaling to Florida with only a stray dog for company. Cara hated hiding from the authorities but felt as if she didn’t have a choice.
After being tossed from one foster family to another, Cara and her twin sister, Hana didn’t trust anyone. They had often found that people were not who they had claimed to be. But, since Cara has been on the road, homeless and penniless, she discovered that there were some very good people in the world. People who didn’t want anything in return for their kindness. Although Cara had always depended on Hana and missed her sister something fierce, she was finding her own way and her inner strength. On this journey, Cara would not only find peace and happiness, but she would also discover who she really was, as well.
I absolutely loved this superbly written book. It stole my heart. I read it in almost one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. This is the first book that I have read by this talented author, but it won’t be my last. That is for sure. Highly recommended.
