WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Books to do a little reading plan update.
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently Reading:
I finally got Women Who Run with the Wolves back from the library. I seriously need to finish this book. I started it in February. I’m annoyed at myself for taking so long.
I’m loving Kill the Dead so far. It’s the second of the Sandman Slim series, and it’s got just as much sarcasm and dry wit and general assholery as the first and I love it.
I got The Glass Spare in November’s Owl Crate, and since the moment I opened the box I knew I needed to read this book right away. It’s actually been on my Goodreads TBR since like June. It’s about a princess with a Midas touch-like curse. I’m not super far in, but I am loving it so far.
Recently Finished:
I finally finished The Nix! For a while I was considering DNFing it, just because it really wasn’t holding my interest for long enough to get through more than a chapter at a time. Once it got to Faye’s time in Chicago it did pick up though. I think my favorite part of this book is how clearly the author was able to write in each character’s voice for each chapter.
Beartown was not what I expected. I expected a story about hockey, which there was, but there was also so much very real discussion of a very current topic (I don’t want to spoil it), some of which seriously pissed me off due to being so realistic (and seriously stupid. Ugh.), but there were also a number of characters I wanted to hug for not being horrible. Which is a pretty low standard.
Up Next:
So my Kindle refused to turn on last week, but now it’s working again. I need to get through Silence in the Desert (I didn’t realize it was about to be archived on NetGalley. Woops.) and Love You Like Christmas. For reals this time. And hopefully I’ll get to The Handmaid’s Tale. I’m considering taking all of next week off work, but even if I don’t I should get a bit more reading in this weekend.
