review 1: This book was recommended to me by a friend. It was really quite cute. I think it's a middle grade level. A quick and easy read. It felt like the first book in a series. There is a lot of set up for what feels like more adventures in both the ghost and human world. There were also A LOT of characters who were quite fleeting. I hope there is more to come from Lapsewood and Sam. Overall it was enjoyable! A great book to read with your kids, or for them to read on their own.

The story opens with a gruesome murder and from then on, had me hooked. The characters are so vivid an... mored real, and the writing is very, very brilliant. Although gruesome, it has some very funny moments too, and some sad ones.It will appeal to anyone who likes mystery and the paranormal, and if you agree that the living is scarier than the dead, do pick this up! less
