review 1: Disclosure: I took over writing the KAT series, so I obviously loved this book. I certainly didn't have to, though, so I'll say my very first reaction when I read it: LOVE it! such a cute, imaginative story, and created a great foundation for me and the later KAT books. Very age-appropriate and fun. Thank you, Rebecca Munsterer, for your amazingly magical world--the spirit of Kat and Christmas shines through on every page!
review 2: I am rating this book partly from my opinion and partly from my daughter's reaction.I thought the book was very cute, it's one of those books where kids learn that no matter what other kids do or say you are capable of great things. What makes it more magical is that it takes place at the North Pole with Santa, Mrs Claus and the el... moreves. Overall, it was written well and the point was made clearly.My daughter (kindergarten) loved this book. We read it at night for bedtime so it took quite a while to finish. She remembered every part of it. It captivated her. She would remind me that we had to read that story again so we could find out ________ (fill in the blank with whatever part we were in at the time). She fully understood it and didn't need anything explained. I recommend reading this book each night starting after Thanksgiving and working your way through it as Christmas approaches. It's perfect for that time period since it takes place during that time period - in the days leading up to Christmas.My personal rating is 4 stars - but with how it affected my daughter and her love of this story, I give it 5 stars. Well worth it! less
